Setting Up The Instant Digital Delivery of Your Product

You have to figure out how your customers will get your product. You have several choices of how to do this. Since we're talking about an info product, I recommend digital delivery rather than shipping a physical copy. And if you use QuickPayPro, it integrates digital delivery for you automatically.

The way it works is that after a transaction is successfully processed and the customer is sent to your confirmation page. This page can have a link to download your info product or a sign-up form for your membership Web Site, newsletter, or service. Basically, it can deliver anything that can be delivered Online. The nicest part is that it's delivered automatically for you, and instantly for your customer!

If you don't use QuickPayPro, you'll have to program your order form to deliver your product after a successful sale. Or you can go really low-tech, and email it to them after you get the order confirmation. But that's not very automatic, is it? :-) Let's look at a few of your different options for delivering an info product.

Digital Delivery Options for an Info Product:

  • An eBook for download
  • A PDF for download or Online viewing
  • A text document for download or email delivery
  • Access to a Web Site

This is a personal choice, as each one has it's own advantages. Let's talk about eBooks first.

eBook Advantages:

  • Downloadable from your Web Site
  • Can be emailed if it's not too big
  • Can be used as a marketing tool (free bonus, lead-in product, giveaway with some sections locked )
  • Higher perceived value (customer feels like they're actually getting something)
  • Can be created from any text, word or HTML document
  • Can be viewed off-line
  • Customizable for your affiliates

eBook Disadvantages:

  • You'll need to buy a "compiler" (unless you want someone else's ad running in your eBook)
  • Only runs on PC's

Personally I think the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

An eBook compiler is a software program that takes files (Web Pages, Text Documents, or Word Files) and turns them into a self-contained unit. When a customer downloads your eBook all they have to do is open it, and all your files are neatly presented as one complete product - just like this one you're reading now! Here are a few of the best eBook compilers out there. Again, I've done a lot of investigation, and these are the ones I'd recommend.

  • eBook Compiler - This is a good basic compiler and very cost effective.
  • eBook Edit Pro - This has a ton more features, but it's 3 times the price of eBook Compiler. It's still not expensive.
  • eBook Pro - This is the granddaddy of all eBook compilers. It has every feature you could imagine, and then some. But it's twice the price of eBook edit. So check each one out and decide which one suits your needs best - I use eBook Edit Pro. The second option is to create a PDF.

PDF Advantages:

  • Cross Platform - works on both PC's and Mac's
  • Downloadable
  • Emailable (depending on size)
  • Viewable Online
  • Printable
  • High Perceived Value
  • Can be made customizable for your affiliates
  • First 5 created Online are free

PDF Disadvantages:

  • Proprietary (customers will have to download the free browser from Adobe)
  • You'll have to buy the software or lease the Online version to do more than 5

Again, the advantages far out weigh the disadvantages. You'll just have to decide whether you'd rather make an eBook or a PDF The next option is to simply distribute a text or word document via email or from your Web Site. This is probably the least professional way to handle it, so I really wouldn't recommend it.

Document Advantages:

  • Cheap
  • Easy

Document Disadvantages:

  • Low perceived value
  • Unprofessional - Very Unprofessional

And finally, you can create a password protected Web Site and sell access to that Site.

Web Site Advantages:

  • Easy to make changes and updates
  • Ongoing info for your customers
  • Instant Access
  • High perceived value

Web Site Disadvantages:

  • Customer must be Online to view your product
  • You have to password-protect the members area (this is easy if you have Web Host that offers this as a feature)

Your method of delivery is up to you. And you can always choose a combination of these methods.
